Service Description

Spring semester only, 16 weeks. Start and end dates subject to change. Soul class description: Soul is a summer-long, 16 day class course that counts for 5 Psychology credits. (July 8-Aug 30th) In ECA’s NEW Philosophy of Personality class, students will embark on a journey of self-discovery, exploring the nature of self as different philosophers and psychologists have come to understand human personality. This course aims to cultivate a deeper understanding of individual uniqueness, development, and invites students to reflect on how self and personality are shaped. Students will read selections from early psychologists such as Freud, Jung, and Rogers alongside ancient philosophers and their musings on personhood. Students will be able to compare these with more modern conceptions of self development such as Enneagram and attachment theory. Throughout the class, students will be encouraged to critically examine their own personalities, values, and behaviors and to reflect on their own development as persons, and their continued development.
